White-Ash Tattoos by Mekari White-Ash Tattoos by Mekari
Since some were asking about it here are some extra tidbits:
Their Maka tattoo is not automatically changed when they enter a profession and they are only given a status tattoo when they declare that role the exceptions being the gender tattoos that they get at age 15, many tribes no longer give a gender tattoo and some only give the Heyoka tattoo. The matriarch tattoo is given to the oldest female in a family if they can properly run their family unit.

Social tats indicate guilds, groups, or government. A White-Ash is not limited to one of these tattoos. There are also a whole host of other tattoos a White-Ash can get that are associated with social tats for instance Janus has a mark on both sides of his face coming up from under the jaw, this celebrates his first kill since one of his shoulder tattoos indicates that hes either a hunter or assassin. Some opt not to get these "sub" social tattoos.

All children at age 10 get their Maka tattoo and when they get this they are considered offcially part of the tribe the reason for this is that in the past it was not a deffiante thing that a child would survive to be that age.

Tibull's Spiral: He got this tattoo commenorate a perticular battle.

June's Flower: June likes to learn about herbs, has a nack for growing plants and is known to eat flowers.

So a White-Ash could eventually end up covered in tattoos ^.^

Told you all that I was gonna do this ^.^

Some of the characters mentioned I have not drawn yet but June is next, I have hir drawn up and ready to scan

If you want to learn more about the White-Ash series then search my gallery you lazies! =P

OMG! I may have you draw up a tat for me someday!
I'd make a donation to you of course, but nonetheless, the tattoos are very awesome!

I'm curious. Are the social roles more caste-like in this story? I ask because people evolve through many social roles throughout their lives. A hunter may become a council member in their old age. The tattoos, I'm assuming, are permanent. If a social role change occurs, what happens with them?

Then they get multiple tattoos, Nova and Janus have two social tattoos Tibull an Akka only have one for reasons of their own but hey are all masters in what they did when White-Ash society was still around, prolly why they survived this long.

Ahhh. So a record of roles rather than the role of the moment. I guess I was entertaining the idea that the tats could be modified throughout one's lifespan, built upon to create a symbol that is both record and current.

cool idea but when a White-Ash goes to a second profession hes still part of the first, if they melded their tattoos I could imagine they would be harder to recognize the symbol.

(For some reason it won't let me view full-screen mode so I can't read all the text as well as I want, So I'm sorry if I repeat anything mentioned.)

The White-Ash is a Wolf Tribe, right? That is the general plot or theme of this new series going to be?
Reason I say "new" is because it still relatively new to me. You said this was a recycled set of ideas, correct?

they more or less resemeble either foxes or wolfs. As for theme the story has to do with tradition, culture, cleansing, and how people who hold all the power ultimately destroy themselves i'm also sure that people will be able to parrallel current topics too. I started to create this universe when I was 9 or 10 you know a place where I could escape to and it evovled from there, the current White-Ash story i've been creating since I was a jounior in high school. There was another online comic I was responsible for, it was kind of a Sonic fan comic called "Silex: The Seven Stones" and it had alot to do with this universe I created, sadly the comic only lasted 2 issues cause I was demanding to much from the artists.

Yeah, I started doing anime then around that age as well. I first started doing TFs, though I didn't know they were called that at the time. Not like Sonic, but more towards Star Fox. But people claimed they were vulgar so I stopped; that was back when I still cared about what other people have to say.

That was when I learned I could use paper to free my mind and do whatever. But I find it interesting how even when you were 16 or whenever you still led even a small team of artists. I can't do that. I'm not exactly an outcast, but I'm definately the odd-man-out. You lucky b...
