The background and stylised "Between the Lines" painted words/logo add a lot to this picture. The background - well it's like I've said before about your ability to create the world around the characters and place them in it. The buildings, and all the detail on them (including the light and shadow), look totally true to reality - not just the level of detail, the perspective's flawless and it really does look like an intersection in a large city that actually exists (In fact, the American-style traffic lights slightly spoiled it for me; apart from those I could have convinced myself it was somewhere in London or Newcastle - or elsewhere in Britain - not really an issue if you're American of course!)

I do think the underside of Shay's umbrella should probably have had the same strong black lines surrounding it that most of the foreground picture has, though, the way the emphasized separation/outlining of the foreground stops there doesn't quite look right, it looks to me kind of like the umbrella's closer to the buildings then it's actually meant to be - even as if it maybe should be casting a shadow on the nearest one, which obviously isn't what's intended.

You say this is the top-left corner of the website's new front page. Shay and Dani represent a very strong focal point, shouldn't they (and hence the picture) be in the centre? Or are there plans for other characters to feature in three other pictures in the other corners?

Will you find a way to incorporate the block of words from the previous front page picture into the new front page? (You know, "SAME STREET" "RELIGION", "CHANGE FRIENDSHIP" "REALNESS HORMONE PILLS" etc?) I liked the way the subject matter and the issues the comic was going to be dealing with, that people reading it could also have dealt with, were set out without spoiling any of the plot or in any way interfering with your ability to introduce these during the story. (And obviously, the way it made it clear that the comic was going to be tackling issues *head on* and wasn't going to be shying away from any uncomfortable truths.) The words were a very powerful part of the original front-page image, it would be a shame to see them go.

It was tricky trying to compare this to the current front-page picture - you're using a different style, this depicts them outdoors in the middle of the day (while the other one isn't so definite about where they are, they could be indoors at night and under artificial light), and most of all this new picture is a lot later in their lives and in the comic then the approximately-Chapter-One current pic. The amount things change for them and they change during the comic means no single picture really sums it all up. In purely artistic terms, not thinking about the thematic content, the new one is definitely the better of the two pictures, it's just really hard to work out which works better as an introduction to the story that's about to come.

As the index page for the website stands right now this drawing is at the top center (pretty much covers the full top of the page)with the website buttons going around on the left in a semi circle and I created some borders that look like spilled, dripping ink starting from the right side of this drawing going down the page dividing the "news" and "latest page" sections ending at the bottom of the page.

Personally I feel this drawing represents these characters more as a whole for the entire length of the comic, the previous front page/index image certainly represent the characters at the start but as we get into the middle the image needed to change, might change the image again as we get towards the end (also been working with templates for a redo of the comic so it will be good enough for print, gonna need to talk to you about that)
