Akka

I really wanted to draw something that was not Between the Lines cause that comic is the only thing i've really been doing for awhile.

This is Akka a character from my White-Ash series. Akka is a White-Ash Shaman/priest/priestess. This is the first time I actually drew Akka and I love how she/he came out especially how androgenous Akka looks^.^

The White-Ash species had a similar view as many Native Americans did when it came to those who exhibited cross-gender behavior. Akka was noticed to have this behavior from a very early age and the White-Ash believed that those who were born like this were sacred and brought good luck to the tribe. At age 10 when all youngsters similar to Akka were given their status Akka was given an extra option that would bring a very high honer upon hir tribe by becoming a priestess to their mother goddess who is believed to reside in white ash trees(also believed to be hermaphroditic) Akka accepted and as with most priests and priestess Akka was castrated.

Akka along with his/her duties as a pirestess was also one of two shamans in his/her tribe and that is where Akka spent most of hir time healing others, performing duties at most rituals and coming up with theories and deeply searching for knowledge of the other known planets which made Akka very controversial, still Akka was loved and adored by hir tribe.

Due to certain political intrigues the White-Ash declared war on the Av'Arul a very technologically advanced fur species that pretty much had control of the known planets. The war only lasted two years and few survived. Akka along with Nova and a few others escaped.
